Creative Flow

Creative Flow

A feeling of peace and resolution pervades the energy held in the surrounding forest and mountains. A deep serenity along with complete surrender to the 'now' illustrates the current level of stress and friction...virtually non-existent. Coming to a peaceful acceptance of the individual creative experience is another benchmark of personal growth.

'Highest and Best for All Concerned' - with ease and grace. This is the mantra repeated at various moments throughout the day. Affirming this intention from a position of integrity can be incredibly powerful in a multitude of ways, whether expressed silently or aloud. The crashing surf is one aspect of this mantra finding an expression in Nature. It is a powerful statement that is appropriate for any circumstance, from condolences to congratulations.

'This or something better!' is another thoughtform that holds great manifestation potential when addended to another statement of intention. "The perfect retreat time for personal restoration... this or something better." This is a way to program for an ideal getaway experience no matter the duration or destination.

The process of allowing inspiration to encroach and its expression to insinuate itself into waking consciousness as an incremental process has been slowly coming into greater focus. Withholding attention from various external distractions has taken more energy and awareness than had been anticipated or prepared for, but success is imminent and enthusiastically awaited.

Nothing has been determined to accomplish an easy or speedy introduction to the sense of isolation and insulation that apparently needs to be in place for some creative minds to produce anything resembling a cogent concept on a proscribed schedule. Lovingly referred to as 'writer's block', the phenomenon described as the inability to express, can develop instantaneously or in the form of some physical illness or even a catastrophe. Anything serving to prevent or stall the ideas that were present and flowing only recently is blamed and steps are initiated to appease the Lords of the Muse. This is one perspective on the creative process of writing.

The discipline that separates the professional writer from an author is often a self-imposed minimum number of words or pages required to be considered the successful accomplishment for the day.  When a true author is fully embraced by the inspiration of character or theme, the words flow, and pages grow without regard to the time of day or hours spent in solitude without sustenance or relief. Time becomes a river carrying the tiny creative craft in its easy current toward some far distant shore. the destination is as yet undetermined, the plot develops as ripples of thought drive the craft onward, making convoluted dips and detours along the way until at last, a harbor can be glimpsed in the distance and a safe haven is welcomed in the final chapter.

Brief moments of the words pouring themselves across the page may be few and far between, but all are relished and celebrated. When reviewing the day's efforts, the author experiences a turn of phrase that illustrates a deeper feeling being explored yet still somehow manages to capture a nuance, both unplanned and unexpected. These are the moments of pure delight that compensate for long hours and aching bodies and embrace the tired mind, giving fresh enthusiasm and further inspiration to continue.

Every creative endeavor is unique. Each artist expresses their perspective in their own way. The time has come in our world to realize that the results of all creative endeavors are worthy of admiration and regard when they are authentic and originate from a place of love and laughter rather than fear or hostility. Art, poetry, cuisine and music are a few of the various ways of pointing to a greater field of perception. But so are any expressions of craftsmanship or expertise. It is a joy to observe anyone sharing their passion, whether it is building, fixing a car, or creating a fine meal. If we can learn to acknowledge and enjoy, as well as celebrate the vast variety of creative expression, we may come to have a greater appreciation for every moment of each day. Being seen and celebrated is also a powerful motivation for the artist, in whatever medium they choose to express their passion.

Whatever it takes...express your personal connection to a creative source and enjoy others expressing theirs. We have the ability to make the world a better place, one moment at a time.
